A FREE event at Kidderminster Town Hall this weekend will showcase a variety of performing arts, while also raising money for children with special needs and their families.

Among the performers this Sunday afternoon (June 16) are Sabi Mollah, showcasing modern and traditional Indian dance, and Lyndon Owen, performing modern jazz and folk music on the saxaphone and reeds.

Local pianist George Rowley will be star of the show, and Kidderminster's own urban poet Tony Smith will be reading his wry observations of local life from his published collections Pub Lives in Poetry and Taxi Lives in Poetry.

Shakespearean actor Richard Nunn will be doing readings, and members of the Worcestershire Piano Society are set to perform.

The event is the second organised by Tony Fowler, with all donations and raffle ticket proceeds going to the National Autism Society and Procorda Trust.

Doors open at 3pm. Email tony.fitc@zen.co.uk for more information.
