NEW movable CCTV cameras that can be deployed to areas of concern could be on the way.

Areas of concern have been classed as Alvechurch, Barnt Green, Hagley, Hollywood, Rubery, and Wythall.

The move, part of the latest investment in CCTV infrastructure in Bromsgrove, comes after funding was granted to the North Worcestershire Community Safety Partnership by the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner and matched by Bromsgrove District Council.

Judith Willis, the Bromsgrove District Council’s head of community services, said: “This project is an opportunity to make our CCTV services more efficient and fit for the future."

A consultation to gauge local opinion in those areas will now run for six weeks from Monday (April 29) until 5pm on June 10.

Through a short survey, people in each area will be able to indicate their priorities for CCTV and what they think about current local camera locations.

The short survey will be available from bromsgrove.gov.uk/consultations or a paper copy can be requested by calling 01527 64252 (ext 3833).

CCTV in Bromsgrove District operates as a shared service between Bromsgrove District, Redditch Borough, and Wyre Forest District councils out of a 24-hour monitoring centre at Redditch Town Hall.
