A NEW engine will help to ease some of the fears at what was seen as a downgrading of the fire fighting capability when one of the two engines was removed from the station in Burford that services the town.

At the time this caused a major controversy and resulted in Phil Grove, the representative for Tenbury on Malvern Hills District Council and a member of Worcestershire County Council leaving the Hereford and Worcester Fire Authority.

The station in Tenbury is keen to hear from people interested in becoming retained fire fighters - working and living in the local community but able to respond when the call comes. This is a common arrangement in rural areas.
