A WOMAN who died in a crash in Wychbold has been named by police as Gail Lewis.

The 74-year-old, from Rubery, died when a car she was travelling in collided with another at around 4pm on Bank Holiday Monday (April 22).

Paying tribute, her daughter Michelle said: "Mum devoted so much of her time to caring for other people.

"She was always putting everyone before herself and was just so very loving and selfless.

"We have been so moved by all the lovely messages that so many friends, neighbours and strangers have sent and, as a family, we would like to thank everyone for their love and support.

"However, we do ask that people who want to contact us directly please don't at this time while we come to terms with our loss.

"We would also like to thank all those in the emergency services who worked so hard to treat our mum on Monday, and for the care and respect they showed her and the whole family.

"We all love her so much and we will miss her terribly."

Mrs Lewis was travelling in a silver Toyota Yaris which collided with another car on the A38 at the Chequers Lane junction, in Wychold, near junction 5 of the M5.

Investigations are ongoing and police would like to hear from anyone with information or dash-cam footage that could help with their enquiries to call 101 quoting incident 506s of April 22, 2019.
