English Symphony Orchestra have team up with Academy Theatre Arts for an exciting new collaborative performance, to entertain an audience at The Swan Theatre in Worcester.

Organisers of the event are certain it will lay a golden egg for entertainment and leave not a dry eye in the house.

A spokesman said: “Dubbed the ‘International Orchestra of Elgar Country’, the world-renowned ESO will join forces with young talent from ‘Worcester’s premiere performing arts organisation’, Academy Theatre Arts, for a thrilling performance of Ravel’s enchanting ballet, Mother Goose.

“The event follows the success of a critically acclaimed debut collaboration between the ESO and the young dancers of Academy Theatre Arts last season, when the two companies came together to perform Copland’s Appalachian Spring.

“The performance, which took place at Worcester’s Swan Theatre last May, was one of the city’s most celebrated cultural events of 2018.”

The spokesman added: “Now, these two innovative companies will join forces again to perform Ravel’s beloved ballet, Mother Goose, as part of a programme that also features Stravinsky’s witty suite, Danses Concertantes, made famous as a ballet by George Balanchine, and three beautiful miniatures by iconic African-American composer, William Grant Still.”

Kenneth Woods, Artistic Director of the ESO, added: “Our English Symphony Orchestra performance last year with the young dancers of Academy Theatre Arts was one of the absolute highlights of the year.

“The dancers are so committed, professional, accomplished and musical that they are just a joy to work with.

“There was scarcely a dry eye in the house after their performance of Appalachian Spring last year and I’m sure it will be the same with Ravel’s beautiful Mother Goose this year.”

ESO & Academy Theatre Arts will present Mother Goose and more at The Swan on Thursday May 9 at 7.30pm
