A MAN was rushed to hospital after suffering 'multiple serious injuries' in a crash in Bewdley this morning.

Emergency services were called to reports of a crash involving one vehicle in Stourport Road at 3.34am.

Firefighters from Kidderminster Fire Station and the Wyre Forest Hub team attended the scene, alongside police, two ambulances and a MERIT trauma doctor from West Midlands Ambulances Service.

The vehicle - a black Volkswagen Golf registration ending WTX - had left the roadway and a man in his 30s suffered head and leg injuries.

A spokesman for West Midland Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 3.25am to Stourport Road to reports of a single-vehicle RTC.

"Two ambulances and a MERIT trauma doctor were sent to the scene.

"One patient - a man - was treated for multiple serious injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further treatment."

Fire crews worked to make the vehicle and the scene safe.

West Mercia Police has since launched an appeal for witnesses, and investigating officers are particularly keen to review any dashcam footage.

Sergeant Steve Hastie said: "We received a call from a member of the public at around 3.24am this morning to alert us to a black Volkswagen Golf in a field near to the Blackstone picnic area on the Stourport Road, Bewdley.

"The driver of the vehicle is currently in hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this stage.

"We are keen to speak with anyone with any information in particular dashcam footage of the incident or who may have seen the black Volkswagen Golf on the Stourport Road, Bedwley or surrounding area in the early hours of this morning.

"If you have any information please call 101."
