MADAM - How very fortunate we are in Kidderminster to have such a great concert hall in the Town Hall.

I have recently been present at two concerts which showed off its excellent acoustics. A performance of ‘The Creation’ by Joseph Haydn in celebration of the 120 years of Kidderminster Choral Society accompanied by The Elgar Sinfonia - an orchestra of professional musicians who come together to play for the Choral Society, together with the soloists who regularly perform throughout the UK and Europe.

This concert was praised by a critic as being ‘triumphantly delivered by choir and orchestra’.

The following weekend the String Section of the recently formed Kidderminster Festival Orchestra , featuring two award winning young soloists, delivered a lively and disciplined performance of music from the 18th century to the 20th century finishing with a joyous performance of ‘Spring’ from The Four Seasons by Vivaldi.

There is no need to go into Birmingham to hear music of the highest quality, it is here in Kidderminster.

The next performance by the full orchestra of The Kidderminster Festival Orchestra is on 12th October and of KCS on 30th November with a performance of ‘The Dream of Gerontius’ by Elgar. Please come and to these concerts and you will be rewarded with a great evening of music making.
