HOSPITALS in Worcestershire will receive £5.6m in emergency capital funding from the Government.
The funding was secured for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Kidderminster Hospital, to deal with high risk estates issues and improvements to critical clinical IT systems.
It comes after the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care took a tour of Worcestershire Royal Hospital last month.
A spokesman for the Hospitals Trust said: "We welcome this additional money, which will be used to fund a range of improvements to our buildings, equipment and IT.”
Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier added: "We were delighted that earlier last month the Secretary of State for Health visited Worcester Royal Hospital to see the work that is being implemented to turn this trust around and was so swiftly followed with this welcoming funding news.”
