THE team of rowers that included Kate Salmon from Ludlow were winners of the women’s race across the Atlantic.
They were rowing to help to raise awareness of the harm caused by the dumping of plastic waste in the ocean.
Kate Salmon, aged 31, comes from Ludlow and is an accomplished rower but this was her biggest challenge so far including spending Christmas and the New Year in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Ms Salmon is a consultant working with the Met Office in Exeter.
