A WOMAN in her 90s suffered a fractured arm as a man tried to steal her handbag at Roland Hill shopping centre in Kidderminster.
The pensioner was on an escalator at 3pm on Thursday, December 27, heading towards Vicar Street, when she felt movement by her side and turned around to find her handbag unzipped, with a man stood close to her.
The man then pushed past, knocking the woman over.
Nothing was taken from the bag but the victim suffered a cracked bone in her arm.
Police are now appealing for people who witnessed the incident, or anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time, to come forward.
The man is described as eastern European-looking, of a large build, and wearing dark clothing.
Anyone with information should call West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 656s.
