A HALESOWEN landscaping supplier had the last laugh over their rivals – when they received a national construction award from legendary Black County funnyman Sir Lenny Henry.

Digby Stone, a supplier of natural stone hard landscaping, won the ‘Supplier of the Year’ honour at the prestigious Builders Merchants Awards at a glittering ceremony in London.

The company was founded in 2008 by husband and wife Darren and Claire Digby in a single room in their Stourbridge home and now has two sites in Felixstowe and Hayseech Road, Halesowen, employing 20 people in total.

Digby Stone won the award – at the Hilton Park Lane in London – due to its ‘high quality products, value for money and exceptional customer service’.

The award was not the independent family business’ first honour of the year, it also won ‘Best Landscaping Brand’ at the Builders Merchants Journal Awards in May.

Mr and Mrs Digby said: “We’ve very proud of our success over the last decade, which is down to our strong and dedicated team and the fantastic relationship we have with customers. “Committed to our roots, our plans are to continue investing and developing our business in the West Midlands.

“The next step in our venture is to expand our range of hard landscaping displays so locals can visit and get a real feel for what’s possible in garden design.”
