A TOWN is getting ready for a Christmas market organised by members of the community.
Visitors can explore Chipping Norton’s high street shops and there will be over 70 stalls, selling local arts, crafts and foodie gifts, including Cotswold Distillery and Alex James Cheese.
The street food village will have a range of treats such as wood fired, stone baked pizzas, chilli dogs, venison burgers, hog roast as well as gluten-free and vegan food and not forgetting the mulled wine.
If you need a break from shopping, there will be live music, fair rides and a free to enter pop-up Christmas cinema. The life size snow-globe is back for the ultimate Christmas selfies, as is the magical Christmas lantern procession, where the Children of Holy Trinity and St Mary’s Primary Schools parade their handmade lanterns through the town.
Christmas in Chippy is a not-for-profit and organised by volunteers on a mission to bring the community together, young and old, to celebrate Christmas and to raise money for local charities. This year it is supporting two causes, the Lawrence Home Nursing Team which provides specialist end of life nursing care, free of charge to those who wish to die at home with dignity, and The Friendship Club - a local support group which offers help and support to men and women, young and old, who have lost a life partner through bereavement.
Christmas in Chippy is on Sunday, December 9, from 12 – 6pm, in Chipping Norton Town Centre.
