A LONG-running Kidderminster covers band celebrated 25 years together with a charity concert which raised thousands of pounds.
Blind Lemon performed at a 'Glitz and Glamour' charity event in aid of Children With Cancer UK, and helped them to raise an impressive total of £3314.
The event was held at Kidderminster Town Hall on Friday October 19.
Blind Lemon approached organiser Julie Hardiman with the idea of holding the concert at the Town Hall as part of the charity's annual fundraiser.
Julie, who was hostess for the event, said: "The evening was a huge success, with people queuing at the doors before they were even open.
"As soon as the band played that first note The Music Room was full with the crowds singing and dancing away throughout the entire evening.
"We sold more tickets than we first anticipated, and were informed that the Town Hall had not sold that many tickets for one event for a few years.
"This event would not have been possible without Blind Lemon.
"We raised £2600 from ticket sales, meaning that the phenomenal amount of £3314 has been raised and donated to Children with Cancer UK on my virginmoneygiving.com/JulieHardiman page.
"On behalf of Children with Cancer UK, I would like to say thank you very much for the continued support and every penny raised is appreciated."
