HERON Foods has become the first new retail outlet to move into the Cornbow as the shopping centre embarks on a million-pound investment.

The shop will open its doors on December 3 and will sit in the former Poundland unit inside the Halesowen town centre shopping arcade.

“Heron is the first of several new shops we will be announcing over the coming months as a result of investing £1.2m improving the centre,” said Adrian Oliver, owner of the Cornbow.

“A mighty warm welcome to Heron Foods as it joins the Cornbow’s shopping ranks,” said Adrian

“Following in the footsteps of Asda, Savers and Poundland – three other great-value retailers at The Cornbow – we believe Heron Foods is set for huge success here.

"It is also great to see they’ll be recruiting 16 new duty managers, senior and part-time sales assistants."

Tony Dobbs, managing director at Heron foods said, “We are building on our great value reputation and will be bringing our low prices every day to new customers in Halesowen.
