A SECOND consultation into a Herefordshire business has begun which could see the closure of its Whitestone site.

In February, Coveris started a consultation into its site at Whitestone Business Park and a negotiation resulted in the reduction of staff numbers from 42 to 21.

But a second consultation has now been launched by Coveris UK about the future of the site.

The site specialises in the manufacture of printed self-adhesive labelling solutions for the fast-moving consumer goods sector and proposals to transfer this capacity to other more centrally located sites within the UK group will be discussed.

Coveris has sites in Lincolnshire, Lancashire, Northumberland, County Durham, Cambridgeshire and Cheshire and continues to consolidate operations across the business.

The company has started the consultation process which will be completed by the end of November and regardless of the outcome, the site will continue to remain open until at least the end of the year.
