A FEW weeks ago, we asked readers to send us photographs of their relatives who fought in the First World War.
The response was vast and all of us at the county newspaper feel proud and privileged to reproduce these pictures of those who risked everything for their country.
Many did not return to Herefordshire and a few of the photographs show the loved ones they left behind.
Many of them were young mothers who were left to cope with the emotional and financial burden of having lost a husband to war.
