FAMILIES with autistic children can attend an educational workshop in Charford on Friday, October 19.
The autism awareness course is being hosted by Bromsgrove District Housing Trust (BDHT) at the Starlight Cafe in Humphrey Avenue from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
The workshop, which is run by Worcestershire County Council, aims to provide parents and carers with information on diagnosis, legislation, codes of practice and the support available to them locally.
Graeme Anderson, director of homes and communities at BDHT, said: "Overcoming stigma and challenges whilst raising awareness of autism is something we are very keen to support and so we are pleased to be involved in putting on this course.
"It really is an excellent opportunity for parents, carers and anyone who would like information or advice to get together in a supportive and relaxed environment.”
The course is free to attend for families who receive Universal Credit, JSA, ESA or earn under £15,000 a year.
