REDDITCH'S first vegan fair was besieged by food lovers from across the region.
On Saturday, St Stephen's Church in the town centre was transformed into an oasis of healthy, compassionate, planet-friendly living, showcasing the best in veganism.
As well as an array of free food samples, there were stalls selling a wide selection of vegan food and products, including chocolate and sweets, cosmetics and toiletries, cakes, raw superfood, recipe books, Easter eggs and more.
The event was organised by Redditch campaigner Kevin White and his group Midlands Vegan Campaigns.
Mr White, the also the Green Party Parliamentary Candidate for Redditch, said: "We were overjoyed with the turnout, the town's first vegan fair was flooded with enthusiastic visitors.
"For several hours it was so busy that it was difficult to move. The free samples of vegan meat, cheese, cake were flying off the table so quick that it was a struggle to keep the plates re-stocked. And some stalls sold out of their products."
He added that there were about 500 people who turned up on the day.
