REDDITCH Lions Club is bringing The Lions Young Ambassador scheme to the town.
This scheme acknowledges the work of young people working as volunteers and gives them the recognition they deserve. It boosts their self esteem, their confidence in themselves and highlights the charities and volunteer groups with which they are involved.
The scheme was first organised in 1974 as the Lions Youth Award, and has grown in stature across the UK over the years.
It has long been acknowledged as one of the foremost recognition schemes for young people and has enjoyed substantial sponsorship from some of the world's major corporations such as Forte, Lloyds TSB and Reuters.
Redditch Lions are looking for young people between the ages of 15 and 18 who demonstrate particularly strong personal commitment, enthusiasm and work ethics with potential leadership qualities within their community.
The award is made to the candidate who demonstrates a particularly strong personal commitment and enthusiasm in their community, but who, in the opinion of the judges, would benefit from the opportunity to develop their confidence and leadership skills even more.
To find out more about the scheme, contact Redditch Lions Club on free phone 0845 833 5914 and a member of the club will explain in more detail what is required to participate.
