UK employers are going to have their work cut out for them this January, as Brits start looking for a better work-life balance.
This year, we’ve replaced the traditional ‘quit smoking’ goals with ones that give us personal satisfaction.
Tony Orme, Marketing Director at LA fitness said, “It's clear that the majority of people are really feeling the pressures of a hectic lifestyle so are now trying to focus on making more time for themselves, their friends and family.”
Research conducted by L.A. fitness highlighted 2014’s favourite resolutions. Here are some that may affect employers.
- Go travelling
- Spend more time with kids
- Leave work on time more often
- Save more money
- Spend less time on Facebook (hurrah)
- Start my own business
- Gain a promotion
It looks like half of your employees could be looking to cut back on their workload, while the rest of them are looking for better financial rewards.
It’s not all bad news, though. Losing weight is still a firm favourite. So if employees do start demanding more money or refusing work, you could always bribe them with a gym membership.
