ALCESTER Champion Susan Adams has officially handed over the role of chairman for Stratford District Council to Councillor George Atkinson.

Cllr Adams handed over the chain of office to Cllr Atkinson at Stratford-on-Avon District Council's Annual Meeting last week (Wednesday, May 17).

During her term of office, Councillor Susan Adams (Alcester and Rural) raised about £2,500 for her chairman’s charities, Stratford Cancer and Eye Hospital £1M Appeal and Life Space, Stratford-upon-Avon, an organisation which mentors young people and helps them to achieve more.

Councillor George Atkinson (Tanworth-in-Arden) has chosen the NSPCC and St Mary Magdalene Church, Tanworth-in-Arden & Malawi Linked Parish Scheme as his Chairman’s charities for the year.
