POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after stones were thrown at a moving vehicle near Wythall.

The black VW Transporter was being driven along Peterbrook Road, in Shirley, when stones were thrown at the vehicle.

They just missed the windscreen but hit the pillar and damaged the paintwork.

PC Garry Jordan said: "We would like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing the incident or saw anyone acting suspiciously.

"This type of incident tends to be carried out by children or teenagers and I would appeal to parents to talk to young people about the dangers of throwing bricks, stones or any other missiles at any vehicle as it is irresponsible and dangerous and can cause the driver to swerve and lose control."

It happened on Sunday, 25 September at 4.50pm.

Witnesses or anyone with information can call 0300 333 3000, quoting incident 523-S-250911 or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
