PUPILS at Ridgeway Middle School enjoyed a traditional sports day, 1950s talent show and a fish and chip lunch to commemorate the school's 50th anniversary.

The school was opened to friends and associates of the school, including ex-pupils and teachers, who enjoyed a delicious cream tea.

A celebration cake was cut by the youngest and oldest pupils in school and everyone enjoyed a slice.

Headteacher Susan Richards said: "It was great to see so many friends from the past join the school and celebrate such a happy milestone in the history of the school. Everyone had a great day."
