A hotel has issued an appeal after its golf course was "significantly damaged" by an electric bike.
Over recent weeks, someone on an electric bike has been causing criminal damage to the greens on the golf course at The Abbey Hotel in Redditch.
Photos shared by the hotel show the tyre marks left behind by the bike and missing chunks of the green where the tyres had sunk into the ground.
The hotel confirmed the grounds team has repaired the damage, but they are urging those responsible to refrain from causing further damage.
A spokesperson for The Abbey Hotel said, "We're aware of this incident and have reported it to the police.
"Our grounds team has repaired the damage, and we would ask those responsible to refrain from causing any further damage."
A post appealing for help in identifying those responsible was also shared on social media along with photos showing the damage to the green.
It said the hotel had invested heavily in a brand-new irrigation system and are working "incredibly hard" to keep the greens in top condition, especially in the hot and dry weather.
They said: "This isn't harmless mischief - it's criminal damage that is ruining the playing experience for our members and guests and creating hours of unnecessary repair work for our greenkeeping team.
"We've invested heavily in a brand-new irrigation system and are working incredibly hard to keep our greens in excellent condition despite the recent hot, dry weather. It's incredibly frustrating to see that hard work undone by the actions of one person."
They added: "We're proud of the improvements we've made to the course and we won't allow the actions of one individual to spoil it for everyone else. Thank you for your support."
