STAFF at Redditch-based RLW Roofing have raised thousands of pounds and helped create a memorial for a local boy through a series of charity projects supporting youth organisation Your Ideas.
On Saturday, June 20, a 23-strong team from the firm took on Snowdon, with every member reaching the summit and back down in around five hours.
Amelia Willshaw from RLW said: "It was an amazing day filled with teamwork, determination, plenty of laughs, and some truly stunning scenery along the way.
"We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together and are grateful to everyone who contributed along the way."
The challenge raised £2,306.85 for Your Ideas.
One walker, Temple, earned a special mention after finishing much of the route in several pairs of socks when his boots fell apart, underlining the determination behind the effort.
Alongside sister business P&H Fabrications, the group has also helped create a memorial bench in memory of a young boy supported by the charity who sadly died.
Children from Your Ideas designed the plaque themselves, which was then laser-cut at the factory.
The bench was unveiled during a memorial celebration event held by the charity one year after his passing, where friends, family, and members of the community came together to remember and celebrate his life.
The impact of the project was deeply felt by everyone involved, with Your Ideas sharing the following words: "We are so grateful for everything you have done to sort this out, it is priceless.
"There have been kids on the bench all the time, lots of the young people don't have the money to visit the grave so having this is honestly life changing."
Other support this year has included a donation of over £200 worth of Easter eggs.
