A nine-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries after a collision involving an e-scooter and a van in Redditch.
The incident happened on Church Road at around 10.55am this morning (Monday July 20).
Police said the van driver stayed at the scene and was spoken to by officers.
No arrests have been made with officers investigating the "circumstances that led to the collision."
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Officers were called to Church Road around 10.55am today following a report of a collision between a van and an e-scooter.
"The boy riding the scooter, aged 9, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital where he remains.
"The driver of the van remained at the scene and was spoken to by officers. No arrests have been made.
"Enquiries are on-going to establish the circumstances that led to the collision."
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said bystanders were helping the boy when medics arrived.
They said: "He received advanced trauma care on scene before being conveyed by land ambulance on blue lights and sirens to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further emergency care."
