RESIDENTS at a care home in Alcester have won a regional ice cream sundae competition.
Staff and residents at Cherry Trees Care Home scooped the top spot in Barchester Healthcare’s regional ice cream contest with their cherry-inspired dessert, created by second chef Nataliya Ivanova.
Care homes in the network were challenged to design an original sundae featuring Millac Gold Cream.
Debbie Osborne, senior general manager at Cherry Trees, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have won the North Region.
"This wasn’t just about creating a beautiful ice cream – it was about bringing our residents together to share ideas, reminisce about favourite treats and be part of something special.
"Nataliya did a fantastic job bringing their ideas to life."
The dessert, inspired by the home’s name and residents’ memories, earned Cherry Trees a visit from an ice cream van as part of the prize.
Cherry Trees Care Home provides residential, nursing and dementia care.
