REDDITCH'S MP has taken a behind-the-scenes look at a fast-food restaurant to learn more about its investment in technology and job creation.
MP Chris Bloore visited the McDonald's in Oakenshaw, where he spent time with staff, saw upgraded digital systems in action, and even took a turn working the drive-through during service.
The visit was hosted by franchisee Robert Holdcroft and his team.
Mr Bloore said: "It was great to visit McDonald's in Oakenshaw and see what goes on behind the scenes.
"Meeting the team and spending time working on the drive-through gave me a real insight into the hard work that keeps the restaurant running.
"I was impressed by the investment in modern technology, which is helping staff work more effectively and supporting the service they provide to customers.
"McDonald's is an important local employer, with more than 400 people working across its Redditch restaurants.
"It also gives many young people their first experience of work, helping them develop skills and confidence."
McDonald's is also supporting RecruitFest, an upcoming jobs fair designed to connect jobseekers with employers across the borough.
Mr Bloore said: "I'm pleased the team will also be supporting RecruitFest and helping connect local people with employment opportunities."
The MP learned about recent upgrades to improve operations, from digital ordering systems to modern kitchen equipment, and met employees from across the restaurant.
The Oakenshaw branch is part of Mr Holdcroft’s wider business, which employs more than 400 people across the Redditch area.
The visit is part of Mr Bloore’s ongoing engagement with businesses in Redditch and the Villages.
He aims to recognise and support organisations that create jobs and invest in the local economy.
