A SUPERMARKET giant has once again been recognised for its leadership in the free-from food sector.

Tesco retained its Retailer of the Year title at the Free From Awards 2026, sponsored by Redditch-based Oakland International.

The win reflects Tesco’s continued investment in both its dedicated Free From range and wider category development.

Sallie Attwell, co-founder of Oakland International, said: "The quality within free from continues to accelerate, and Tesco’s performance reflects the high standards continuing to be achieved across the sector.

"It’s great to see so many brands and retailers driving the category forward."

Oakland International, a Certified B Corporation, offers supply chain solutions including consolidation, contract packing and distribution, and is a long-standing supporter of the Free From Awards.

Cressida Langlands, CEO of the Free From Awards, said: "Tesco saw off M&S and Asda to retain Retailer of the Year by a quality margin, illustrating once again Tesco’s superb quality."
