The operator of a Redditch nursery has launched a guide to help families understand the importance of play for children.
Partou, which runs the Partou Alexandra Day Nursery and Pre-school, released the free 'Partou Guide to Play' to mark International Day of Play.
The guide offers parents practical ideas and expert insights into the value of play in early years development.
Kirsty Jackson, co-managing director at Partou, said: "Play is how young children learn to understand the world around them.
"It supports everything from language and social development to emotional confidence, creativity and resilience.
"Our educators are highly skilled in recognising how different types of play support different areas of development and create experiences that help children learn naturally through curiosity, exploration and interaction.
"The 'Partou Guide to Play' shares some of that expertise with families, helping them to feel confident that everyday moments of play at home can have a hugely positive impact on their child’s development."
The guide is based on feedback from nearly 900 early years educators and is part of Partou’s partnership with UNICEF UK.
It reinforces the importance of play in childhood and aims to help families build developmental opportunities into daily routines.
The guide is available free on the Partou website.
