A POPULAR Tudor country house has unveiled a new café and children’s attraction after reopening under family management.
Coughton Court, near Alcester, is now being run day-to-day by the Throckmorton family, who have taken over the historic estate and introduced a series of changes for visitors.
Among the first additions is the newly opened Stableyard café and a dedicated children’s play area, designed to create a more welcoming and family-friendly experience.
Magnus Birch Throckmorton said the response from visitors since reopening has been overwhelmingly positive.
“It’s been fantastic welcoming so many people through the gates and chatting with visitors.
“Our reopening weekend was a great success, and we’ve received lots of positive feedback about the changes we’ve made.
“Guests have particularly enjoyed the refreshed Stableyard café and the brand new play area, which show that Coughton Court is becoming the welcoming community hub we hoped it would be.”
He added that the team is looking forward to building on the early success and attracting more visitors in the coming months.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming even more visitors in the weeks and months ahead and sharing all the wonderful experiences our house and gardens have to offer,” he said.
The historic house, previously operated as a National Trust site, now offers ticketed entry priced at £15.50 for adults, £6.50 for children, with under-fives going free.
Concessions and student tickets are also available, alongside annual passes for regular visitors.
Coughton Court is open from Wednesday to Sunday, between 9am and 4.30pm throughout the year.
