AN outdoor market in Redditch is turning one later this month and is set to celebrate with a themed Easter market.

The market is set to be a day of fun-filled family entertainment held alongside Redditch’s normal stalls.

A trader that has been at the market since day one, John from Country Garden Pies, also a former butcher, will be putting on a sausage making demonstration as part of the birthday celebration.

The demonstration will cover all of the key elements of sausage making including seasoning and linking them together, they’ll then be cooked for people to taste.

Leader of Redditch Borough Council, Cllr Sharon Harvey, said: “The Easter market will be a fantastic occasion and bring a lovely warm atmosphere to our town centre.

“With this being a joint celebration for the anniversary of the return of Redditch Market I encourage as many people as possible to come down to support your local market, traders, and enjoy being proud of our town.”

There will be fun for all the family with live music from Tom Callingswood, as well as balloon modelling and face painting for the younger ones.

There’s still time to get involved and get yourself a stall at the market whether you’re experienced or a brand-new start up business, there’s free trader parking, and the new trader incentives.

The event will be taking place between 9am and 4pm at the Market Place in Redditch on March 28.
