HOSPITAL waiting lists have fallen according to latest figures shared by local MP.
Waiting lists at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust have fallen by more than 4,400 since the general election, according to figures shared by Redditch MP Chris Bloore.
The MP said NHS waiting lists across the trust, which includes Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, have reduced by 4,468 patients in recent months.
He added that the drop mirrors a national trend, with waiting lists across England falling by more than 312,000.
Chris described the figures as ‘positive news for Redditch and the villages,’ and said this was the second-largest monthly reduction in NHS waiting lists in the past 15 years, despite record demand on health services.
He also pointed to operational changes within the NHS that he said were helping more patients access care more quickly.
“Evening and weekend clinics, new diagnostic centres and surgical hubs are helping more patients get faster care,” he said.
Chris said the figures showed progress was possible when the NHS was properly supported.
“This is progress when we properly back our NHS,” he added.
“Thank you to NHS staff for their tireless work.”
