A REDDITCH care home is throwing open its doors for a series of free, community-based exercise classes.
Millcroft Care Home, operated by HC-One, is offering fully seated sessions, designed to support physical health, wellbeing and social connection, to both residents and members of the local community.
The Burns Brothers exercise class, held every Tuesday from 11am to 11.30am, is delivered via Zoom and streamed live in the care home’s cinema room.
The sessions are fully seated and accessible to people of all abilities.
They focus on improving mobility, strength, coordination and confidence through gentle, guided movements.
Lyndsay Sard, home manager at Millcroft Care Home, said: "Staying active is so important for both physical and mental wellbeing, particularly as we get older.
"The Burns Brothers exercise classes are a fantastic way for residents and members of the local community to move safely, have fun and feel part of something positive together.
"We’re delighted to be able to offer these sessions for free and would love to see more people join us."
The classes are designed to improve not only physical health but also mental wellbeing, with regular participation known to boost mood, circulation, flexibility and balance.
The sessions also offer a social outlet, helping attendees feel connected and motivated in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Millcroft Care Home hopes to extend the benefits of the classes to the broader community, promoting healthier lifestyles and building stronger local ties.
The Burns Brothers exercise class is free to attend and open to members of the local community.
