A NEW Year 7 hub has been launched to support pupils in Alcester as they begin secondary school.
St Benedict’s Catholic High School in Alcester has refurbished a standalone building exclusively for Year 7 pupils, creating a dedicated learning and support environment for students making the transition from primary to secondary education.
The hub features home classrooms, a learning resource centre and modern science laboratories.
Claire Paddock, principal at St Benedict’s, said: "We are delighted with the space we have developed to support this crucial stage of learning.
"We believe St Benedict’s offers the perfect environment for pupils to move into secondary education with confidence, feeling supported, secure and ready to thrive."
The space is designed to ease the challenges of adapting to a larger school, a wider range of teachers and greater independence.
Alongside academic facilities, the hub also supports students’ social and emotional development.
Features available to pupils include a dedicated canteen and access to the school’s cinema, dance studio, chapel, roof prayer garden and outdoor sports fields.
The scheme is part of the school’s wider commitment to Catholic social teaching and its emphasis on dignity, inclusion and care for the whole child.
The school said the hub combines academic support and personal development in a faith-centred environment.
The goal is to help each pupil feel welcomed, valued and ready to flourish during their first year of secondary school and beyond.
