POLICE have issued a safety warning over frozen lakes and ponds following low temperatures and heavy snowfall.
Redditch Police have been conducting patrols around Arrow Valley Lake due to 'thin and unpredictable ice' over lakes, which might appear solid.
Redditch Police said: "As the cold weather sets in, frozen lakes and ponds might look tempting - but they are not safe.
"Ice can be very thin and unpredictable, even if it appears solid. Walking, skating, or playing on frozen water puts you at serious risk of falling through.
"Officers from the Winyates and Matchborough Safer Neighbourhood Team have been conducting patrols around Arrow Valley Lake over the past few days to ensure public safety in the area."
