REDDITCH MP Chris Bloore has called for the full implementation of Labour’s New Deal for Working People following progress on the Employment Rights Bill.
He said: "I joined the Labour Party to do exactly this – to stand up for working people and deliver real security at work.
"I’m proud of the progress we’ve already made with the Employment Rights Bill, but this is only the beginning.
"We need to get on and implement the New Deal for Working People in full, as soon as possible."
The MP met with Labour Unions representatives at the Labour Party Conference 2025 in Liverpool, joining 11 affiliated unions campaigning to deliver the New Deal in full.
The bill delivers key reforms, including job security from day one, guaranteed hours contracts, day-one sick pay and an end to exploitative zero-hours contracts and fire-and-rehire practices.
Mr Bloore emphasised the need for further action.
He said: "Working people need reliable, fair conditions – and the New Deal will transform workplaces nationwide.
"Everyone, whether they live in Redditch or our surrounding villages, deserves the same protections and opportunities.
"The New Deal is how we make that happen and I’ll be doing everything I can to make sure it’s delivered in full."
