A man has been taken to hospital after a car collided with a lamppost on a main road in Redditch.

West Mercia Police said they were called at around 10.30am today (Monday, October 20) to reports of a collision at the junction of the A448 Bromsgrove Highway and the A4189.

Officers arrived to find a car had come off the road and collided with a lamppost.

A man was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We received a call around 10.30am today (Monday, October 20) with a report of a collision at the junction of the A448 and A4189.

"Officers arrived to find a car had collided with a lamppost.

"The driver was taken to hospital."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of an RTC at the junction of the A448 and A4189 in Redditch at 10.25am.

"An ambulance was sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a car had come off the road and hit a lamp post.

"A man was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and was conveyed to Alexandra Hospital."
