WEST Mercia Police has issued a statement after officers were called to an area of Redditch following a report of a man with a weapon.
The force said it was called to the Church Hill area shortly after midday yesterday (October 15) following a report that a man was in possession of a weapon.
After carrying out enquiries, officers confirmed that"nothing untoward" was found and reassured the community that there was no risk.
Despite no risk being identified, the force said it believes the call was made in good faith.
In a statement, West Mercia Police said: "Officers were deployed to the Church Hill area of Redditch around 12.15pm yesterday (Wednesday 15 October) following a report that a man was in possession of what was believed to be a weapon.
"Following extensive searches, house to house and CCTV enquiries, nothing untoward has been identified and it is believed the call was made in good faith.
"We don’t believe there to be a risk to the local community."
