MEDICS have released a statement after a man died near the Kingfisher Shopping Centre in Redditch at the weekend.
The Midlands Air Ambulance helicopter from Cosford and two ambulances rushed to car park 2 near the centre on Silver Street at around 5.25pm on Saturday (September 20) following reports of a man who was seriously injured.
Paramedics administered advanced life support to the man, who was aged in his 30s, but despite their efforts he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have said the man's death is not being treated as suspicious, but officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to an incident on Silver Street at 5.27pm on Saturday, two ambulances and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.
"On arrival we discovered one patient, a man.
"Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
Detective Inspector Lisa Tibbits, of West Mercia Police, said: "First and foremost, our thoughts are with the family of the man who has sadly died.
"To help with our enquiries into how the man suffered his injuries, we are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident. We are not treating the death as suspicious. We would also like to speak to anyone who may have used the car park around 5pm to get in touch, or anyone who has any dashcam footage.
