Hundreds of homes were left without power after a car collided with a substation in Redditch.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Services crews from Redditch and Bromsgrove were called at around 6pm on Wednesday (August 27) to a single-car collision at a substation near Birmingham Road.
Photos from the scene show a car, which looks as if it has gone off the road and hit the substation, with workmen standing around it assessing the incident.
The fire service, West Mercia Police, National Grid and National Highways attended the scene.
Around 702 homes were without power in the town with more than 70 postcodes in the B97 and B98 areas affected.
There were also reports of traffic lights not working as well as shops having to close due to having no power.
On the website, National Grid said: "Our equipment has been accidentally damaged in your area and we're working hard to fix this."
More than 600 homes continued to be without power shortly before 9pm as teams worked hard to resolve the damage.
The power was not fully restored to all homes until around 3.07am on Thursday (August 28).
A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Redditch and Bromsgrove were called out at 6.02pm to an RTC near Birmingham Road in Redditch.
"The incident was marked as closed at 10.35pm."
No injuries have been reported following the incident and officers have confirmed that no arrests were made.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Officers were called a single-vehicle collision on Birmingham Road in Redditch after a car collided with a substation around 6pm yesterday (Wednesday, August 27).
"National Grid and Highways were also called out the incident.
"No one was injured and no arrests were made."
