Students across Redditch have been celebrating some impressive GCSE results.
At Trinity High School, headteacher Nigel Ford said: "I am really pleased with this year's results, which are a testament to the commitment and hard work of our students and staff.
"GCSE and BTEC qualifications are more challenging than ever before, and our staff and students have worked together as a community to ensure our students achieved well and all had big smiles on their faces as they opened their results.
"The majority of this cohort will once again join us to study A levels at our Sixth Form and we can't wait to work with them as they continue their educational journey with us".
Notable performances included those of Harry Bacon, Hadley Kilkenny, Lydia Carr, Ushani Santhirakumar, Amelia Sealey Stanton, and Sophie Adams. The school was particularly delighted to celebrate the success of Aleksanda Majka who achieved 9 Grade 9 grades and one Grade 8.
Mat Rash, principal at Arrow Vale High School, said: “I am so happy for our students, it’s been great to work with them and watch them reap the benefits of their commitment and hard work.
"Each one of them should feel proud of their efforts and the personal growth they have demonstrated throughout their studies.
"We’re looking forward to welcoming many of them back to Arrow Vale to continue with their post-16 studies at our sixth form.”
Top performers included James Claridge, Ella Drinkhill, Joshua Wilkins, and Priscilla Bustamante Gonzales.
Reflecting on her experience of completing her GCSEs, Ella Drinkhill said, “Lessons with proper exam prep really helped- the walk-through mocks were brilliant".
Josh Wilkins offered advice to next year’s cohort of GCSE students – “The more work you do now, the easier it is in the long term - start now.”
At Tudor Grange Academy in Redditch, principal Marie McNamara shared her pride in the students’ achievements. she said: "Our pupils have shown incredible perseverance throughout their GCSE journey, and it’s a joy to see their efforts rewarded. These results reflect not only academic success but the strength of character that defines our school community.”
“We also take great pride in recognising achievements beyond grades—whether it’s excellent attendance, leadership in extracurricular activities, or the kindness shown to others. These qualities are just as important and will serve our pupils well in whatever path they choose next. We wish them every success in the future.”
Among the top performers this year were Scarlett Freeman, Eleanor Taylor, Tanaka Kamungeremu, Zi Lin Xue and Muhammad Hussain.
Tudor Grange Academy Treetops is delighted to be able to celebrate the achievements of its students on GCSE results day. Treetops is an enhanced autism base at Tudor Grange Academy Redditch, and is specifically for students with complex social communication and interaction difficulties, including autism. Results day has been a triumph for the students with an excellent set of outcomes across the board.
School student Elliot is one of the academy’s highest achievers with three grade 8s, three grade 7s, a grade 6, and a grade 5, and leaves to study A-levels at Heathfield Knoll this September.
St Augustine's Catholic High School in Redditch is delighted to announce a "truly exceptional" set of GCSE results, with students achieving a remarkable performance that places them well above the national averages.
"I am immensely proud of our students and staff for these outstanding results," said Headteacher Luke Payton. "Their commitment and hard work have paid off spectacularly. These grades reflect not only academic excellence but also the incredible resilience shown by our entire school community."
The school said its top performers were Bella Vale, Nishel Justin, Amélie Seager and Oliver Fisher.
At Ridgeway Secondary School in Astwood Bank, headteacher Matthew Ball said: "After such an impressive story of improvement last year, these results show that Ridgeway continues to inspire our students to be the very best they can be. We are a school that strives for excellence and continuous improvement.
"These results are a testament to the resilience, hard work and determination of our students, and to the skill, expertise and tireless effort of our dedicated staff. Together, we have created a culture where success is expected and achieved".
Top performers were Hetty Walsh, Jacob Hill, and Lucy Jordan.
At St Benedict’s Catholic High School in Alcester, 66% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in English and Mathematics, which is well above national average. Religious Education remains a consistent strength with 33% of pupils achieving Grades 9-7. 44% of pupils achieving Grades 9-7 in Spanish and 29% of pupils achieving the highest grades in History.
Individual pupil highlights this year include Nela Stefancinova with eight Grade 9s and Mackenzie Huddlestone with seven Grade 9 grades.
