A famous musician and television presenter made a surprise appearance at a model train shop in Alcester.
Alcester town crier David Parkes said he was left "a bit shocked" after Jools Holland walked into his shop, Alcester Trains and Models, last week.
The 57-year-old described Jools as a "lovely chap" and managed to tell the Later...With Jools Holland star all about the town, including Alcester Court Leet.
Mr Parkes, who has been running the shop for four years, said: "It was a bit of a surprise when I saw him walk into the shop. I knew he was into his model railways, but I was still shocked to see him.
"He said he had been staying with friends in Warwick and they had told him about the shop, so he stopped off on the way to his concert in Buxton. He is a lovely chap and we had a good chat about Alcester. I told him I was the town crier and got to tell him about the Court Leet.
"He walked around the shop for a bit and even bought a couple of pieces."
Mr Parkes said Jools also took an interest in the architecture of the town and was spotted taking photos of the historic buildings.
After posting about the visit, the shop owner has had several great reactions from residents with plenty saying it puts Alcester on the map.
Mr Parkes added: "It's not only good for my shop, but Jools also had a lot of praise for Alcester. He said it was a lovely town with really impressive architecture and he would definitely be back.
"People have been stopping me in the street to ask about him visiting since I posted the photo on Facebook. It really is great to see local businesses being supported.
"Jools is welcome to come back to the shop anytime and I'll be keeping an eye out for items I know he collects."
