A GROUP of football supporters are gutted after their giant England flag was stolen during the game against Iceland at Wembley.

Members of the Redditch branch of the Birmingham City Supporters Club planned to take their huge flag to Germany for the Euros on Friday.

For nearly a decade they have been proudly displaying the flag, which says 'Redditch Blues', at England games.

But, the flag, which is around 2.5m by 1.5m, was stolen sometime during the second half of the Iceland game on Friday evening (June 7), where England were defeated 1-0.

She discovered the flag had been stolen after walking down the steps at the end of the match.

Lynda Courts, aged 62, who has been running the supporters group for the last 15 years, said she is "devastated."

She has launched an appeal on social media in the hope that the flag is returned.

She said: "We are supposed to be going to Germany on Friday and we were going to take it. It's a tradition.

"It's going to be weird not having it with us. If anybody has got it or knows somebody that's got it - we just want it back.

"We have got tickets all the way to the final if England should progress that far".

The group will now be taking a smaller flag, which has attracted the attention of former Birmingham City player Jude Bellingham at England games.

He even gave Lynda his San Marino shirt after England beat them 10-nil back in 2021.

The Redditch branch of the Birmingham City Supporters Club meets regularly at the Oast House pub in Oakenshaw.
