Lucy Abney-Hastings, sales director and daughter of the festival's founding member Maurice Abney-Hastings, said: "Alcester Food Festival brings together the town to celebrate food and drink from far and wide.

"It's great to see the visitors and exhibitors and really is a credit to everyone involved. The help and support from the volunteers is invaluable and we couldn't do it without them."

Alcester Food Festival was created in 2010 by residents who longed for an event where the street was lined with local and high-quality produce to be enjoyed al fresco alongside friends and family.

The event is run by a small group of unpaid volunteers alongside other locals who help out on the day.

There are seven board members who spend the year planning and organising the food festival, which remains in the heart of Alcester High Street.

The location means pubs, shops and cafes can get in on the action and it allows the organisers to "give back to the community".

They are also a Community Benefit Society meaning any surplus funds are donated to help local organisations.
