Council services have moved to a new location as work continues to transform Redditch Town Hall into a new community hub.

Redditch Borough Council announced this week that the customer service team are now in their new home at 5 George Walk in the Kingfisher Centre.

The borough council side of the town hall building closed to the public at the end of Friday, April 5 with the construction hoarding set to go up shortly afterwards.

Redditch Borough Council's Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Resources, Peter Carpenter, said: "Please bear with us during these temporary arrangements as we enter a period of unprecedented change to deliver the new community hub.

"During the works, council customer service staff will be available in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre and committee meetings will be held in the community centre at Oakenshaw and the upstairs meeting rooms at Arrow Valley Visitor Centre.

"We will return to the new hub once work there is complete."

The customer service team can now be found at the back of Primark in the Kingfisher with the council also reassuring residents that they will be able to provide documents and evidence to the council, get advice on accessing local services and use self-service online and telephone services during the normal opening hours of 9am to 5pm on weekdays except bank holidays.

In a statement on Facebook, a spokesperson for Redditch Borough Council said: "The Customer Service Team are now in their new home at 5 George Walk - you can find them out the back of Primark in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

"Walking from the Town Hall, head up the pedestrianised walk towards the post office, turn left down the cut-through opposite the John Bonham Statue, enter the Kingfisher Centre and head straight down past Clinton's towards Coffee #1, turn right past Waterstones, turn left to cut through between Costa and Primark, out the big glass doors and we're on your left."
