FOUR more people have been arrested after an incident in which a firearm was discharged in a Redditch street - taking the total to seven suspects.

Officers executed warrants in the West Midlands area on Friday (April 5) following intelligence work in relation to the incident which happened in Ombersley Close on Tuesday March 26.

Three people were arrested – a man, aged 19, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and a man, aged 25, and a woman, aged 38, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

On Wednesday (April 3) a woman, aged 25, was arrested at an address in Redditch on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has been bailed pending further enquiries.

These latest arrests follow the arrest of a 33-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder on Friday March 29.

Two further people were arrested the same day. A man, aged 48, was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and a woman, aged 20, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three have been released on bail while enquiries continue.

DI Warren Matthews, of North Worcestershire CID, said: "Although seven suspects have now been arrested in connection with the incident we continue to appeal for witnesses and ask anyone who saw the incident or who has doorbell/CCTV footage to come forward."
