A prolific shoplifter has been banned from a Redditch shopping centre for two years after being handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
Jamie Flynn, aged 39, of Edgeworth Close in Redditch, cannot enter the Kingfisher Shopping Centre and is also banned from any shops he is excluded from in the town.
The CBO was granted at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (March 12) and it states that Flynn must not enter any retail premises from which he is banned or excluded and cannot refuse to leave any premises, location or area when asked by someone with authority to do so.
If Flynn fails to comply with the order, which was requested by officers in Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Team, he faces further punishments which could result in a prison term.
The order said: "If you do anything that you are prohibited from doing by this order, or you fail to do anything that you are required to do by this order, you will be committing a criminal offence for which you could be sent to prison or detention and/or ordered to pay a fine."
Police Constable Greg Melville, of Redditch SNT, said: "We are pleased that this two-year CBO has been granted because of Flynn’s prolific shoplifting which we hope will protect retailers and the public from his criminal actions.
"Placing such restrictions on an individual like this will hopefully reassure retailers and the community that we take such offences very seriously and will take the necessary action where appropriate.
"Anyone who sees Flynn entering the shopping centre or committing an offence should report it to us via 101 or online."
