From Croome to Coughton Court, there is something for everyone including play parks and new cafes to explore.

Today, we look at Tripadvisor's best-rated National Trust properties within an hour's drive of Worcester which include properties in neighbouring Warwickshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

Because many of the properties have an identical high rating, the ones who come out on top are the ones with the most positive reviews overall as that indicates a broader sample of public opinion.

Among the places not to be missed are Baddesley Clinton, a moated manor house noted for its priest holes or hides. It was a safe house for Catholic priests, surviving through the Civil War and its aftermath, the Commonwealth and troubled finances.

It was the home of the same family, the Ferrers, for 500 years.

Meanwhile, some properties have new features, including the Courtyard Kitchen, a new cafe at Hanbury Hall near Droitwich.

Many families will also be familiar with the highest-ranking property - Croome, famous for its landscaped grounds designed by Northumbrian Lancelot "Capability" Brown for the 6th Earl of Coventry.

It has become popular for its walks through the grounds and for families because of its extensive parkland, an RAF themed play area and a Natural Play Area.
