A Redditch housebuilder has launched a search for its longest-ever resident to help mark a milestone for the business.

Redrow Midlands, which has built around 224 developments across the region since 1985, is on a mission to find its longest-standing homeowner as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.

The aim is for long-term residents to share their experiences and unique stories with a prize of £500 up for grabs.

The housebuilder is calling on those living in Redditch in particular to take part due to the large number of current and long-standing Redrow developments including Silverbrook Meadow on Foxlydiate Lane.

Sales Director at Redrow Midlands, Elaine Cartwright, said: "As we enter this exciting year, commemorating our 50th anniversary, we can't wait to celebrate with all the people who make Redrow what it is.

"If you've been a Redrow homeowner since your very first home purchase or recently upsized into a new energy efficient home with us, we hope you will join us in the celebrations.

“As part of our 50th anniversary, we want to hear from you, whether that’s an interesting homebuying tale or a story of your life in one of our homes. If you think you may be the Redrow Midlands homeowner who has lived with us the longest, we encourage you to get in touch."

Founded in 1974, Redrow was created by Steve Morgan CBE with £5,000 loaned to him by his father.

Over the years, the company has built more than 120,000 homes and has more recently become the first large housebuilder to introduce source heat pumps into all of its new developments.

The housebuilder has also funded several charitable projects in the Midlands through its regional Community Fund, with £10,000 this year alone distributed to good causes across the region.
